Systems Administrator

We are Seeking a Systems Administrator to support the IT department in Farmington Hills, MI.
This is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity

The Systems Administrator will provide hardware, software, and problem resolution support for the data center and infrastructure equipment.
Position Responsibilities:

Administer server operating systems including performance monitoring, operations planning, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
Administer VMWare production cluster.
Setup, secure, and manage AWS presence.
Assist in migration of key systems from current datacenter to AWS.
Monitor Bandwidth utilization, up time, and Security logs.
Troubleshoot hardware, software and operating systems
Utilize procedures and standards to ensure operational consistency on a nationwide basis and update documentation as required
Work with Business Analysts and Developers to support product rollouts.
Provide specialized technical support and planning guidance to development team.
Maintain records on repairs, down time, and configuration changes
Assist in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and support
Participate in capacity planning including forecasting of needs for future infrastructure related purchases.
Monitor system and network performance and tune performance as necessary.
Participate in on-call rotation to provide off-hours support.
Knowledge of standard network protocols and principles including TCP/IP, and iSCSI
Job Requirements Qualifications:

Minimum 6 years experience in IT industry, focusing on systems and/or network administration.
3+ years experience administering Linux and Windows
Hands on experience in setting up and maintaining AWS.
Hands on experience using VMWare 5.x Server virtualization in an enterprise environment.
General knowledge of network topologies and protocols such as physical wiring, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, and wireless.
Experience administrating Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent organization, time management and follow-up skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with storage in a SAN/NAS environment is a plus.
AWS certification is a plus.
