DevOps Engineer

Our client is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to lead our R&D group. We're looking someone to help grow our DevOps practice through automation, tool development and best practices. You'll be responsible for helping us build infrastructure and deployment automation tools, better automate our CI/CD process and help spread DevOps practices to all squads.

They’re a fun group within a larger organization. Though they have a backing of a larger company behind us, they operate like a startup. They live by GSD (Get Stuff Done) and simple is better philosophies. You'll work in a great location: downtown Detroit, right near the Tiger stadium. You'll get whatever equipment you need to be productive and happy (i.e. standing desk, macbook pro, monitors, etc...).

They’re looking for a smart, thoughtful, driven person that is addicted to seeing immediate results of his/her work and thrives on learning new things. Breadth and depth of expertise isn't always reflective of number of years of experience. A strong track record of doing the work is critical.

Here are some of the tools and services that they are either using or plan on using:
• AWS (many of their services i.e. EC2, RDS, Dynamo, ELB, S3, CodeDeploy, etc...)
• Terraform
• Ansible
• Datadog
• NewRelic
• LogEntries
• Logstash, Kibana
• Docker
• Travis CI
• Familiarity with Python or another scripting language
• git/github
